Keep your money happy.

Money Me is a financial app that helps users manage their expenses more efficiently in a fun way. Nowadays, there are thousands of mobile apps claiming to assist with personal finances. However, due to the wide availability of tools and the lack of financial understanding, young users suffer from a lack of motivation and interest in their financial management. Money Me provides young users with the tools to manage their finances, to get a grasp of their money and plan for their future in a smart way.

The challenge.

Young adults experience a transition from financial dependence to independence after high school. Managing finances is often a dreadful task during this life stage, however it is important that young adults develop effective financial and budget management skills.

The challenge was to find a way to stimulate and educate young users to manage their finances in an efficient way.

A different approach.

Many of the available finance management mobile applications are often boring, cumbersome and difficult to understand. Ultimately, they are not targeted to a younger demographic that needs to not only manage their finances but also learn how to do so. In Money Me users can create their own financial avatar which reacts to the users financial decisions and teaches the user the impact of present financial decisions on their future.

Money Me provides its users with the tools to manage their finances efficiently in different ways:

+ Users can track their expenses within the app
+ Users can create a monthly budget
+ Users can track their savings
+ Users can create present and future financial goals to which they allocate their savings
+ Users can have an understanding of the consequences of their financial decisions on their future finances
+ Users are encouraged to manage their finances because the app provides them with a fun and engaging way to do so

The visual identity.

The challenge with developing the brand identity of Money Me was to create an identity which was fun and exciting without the often-associated heaviness and boredom of finances. The custom wordmark borrows from the funkiness of Mighty Slab by Dharma Type to create a unique and expressive presence in the middle of the ever-growing finance apps.

The illustrations play of the quirky elements of the logo to create a lively and fresh look. The custom illustrated pattern makes use of the brand iconography to mirror the chaos of our finances: a mix between budgeting, goals, savings, hopes and dreams.
